UCAN

UCAN are an established training organisation delivering end-to-end apprenticeships to employers in the United Kingdom. I was approached to tidy up their existing brand, create a set of brand guidelines and design a set of icons and informative brochures outlining some of the apprenticeship schemes available for employers to become involved with intended to be distributed digitally, but with the option of short print-runs kept in mind during the design process in case the need for printed versions arises in the future.

Other than a few very slight alignment issues and an exercise in refining the scale of the bulb device when used in conjunction with the UCAN logotype, the logo tidy-up part was relatively straightforward and informed the brand guidelines creation, too. The main event, however, was the brochures. With colour options from the revised palette devised as part of the new brand guidelines and a concise set of icons created to help the reader digest things, the content has been presented in an infographic style, where possible, and produced in a way that is easy to update or replicate when new apprenticeship schemes come online.
