Bristol Fashion Week Rebrand

Bristol Fashion Week Re-brand 2016 -

This project focuses on the full re-brand of Bristol Fashion Week and all its commercial and editorial elements.

My aim was to experiment with physical embroidery and stitching to relate to fabrics within fashion and draw elements from Bristol's historical past themes.

I took some inspiration from a nautical theme to do with Bristol itself and how type or various forms of communication were used in the phonetic alphabet historically with multiple symbols in its old nautical trading establishments.

I then overlapped the colours shapes and forms and sought to find a textured type to go along with this style.

I used beautiful photography from Fredrik Wannerstedt - http://www.wannerstedt.se/ - as a reference for fashion photography and to layer within the fabric-like images.

I created an editorial piece using the original Bristol Fashion Week programme that was, to begin with, an A4 sheet with a bullet pointed list of what would be on during the show. I expanded this and made for a more thorough editorial piece which could be further expanded upon in the continuation of their shows.

I applied all of these designs and ideas online, with which the show didn't really have much of a website to start off with. I wanted to again, expand on my use of colour, editorial styled fashion and a real fabric tactile feel, with a lot more information to delve into.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my final major university project!

Hope you enjoyed it :)
