VISION OF THE SEA
I have always been fascinated by the sea. Its scent, colours, textures but also its power and unpredictability. It changes every day; someone might say it has moods and feelings, it is mysterious and full of unknown. You could go to the same shore, and you will never see the sea same as previous time. The sea is deadly and yet full of life, breathing with every wave, every ebb and flow. The variability of sea level and the fluidity of the surface features of one sea are the primary subjects of my project. It is a photographic exploration of the diversity of English Channel.
The 'Vision of the sea' was my Final major project on my Bachelor's degree studies and at the end of the year, it was also part of the exhibition - Summer Degree Show. Aside from the photographs I also made a book, something like a travel journal from my travels along the south coast of England and I have collected samples of seabed to show visitors the variability of it and to add a sculptural character to my work.
The whole project was really challenging for me. Exploring new cities in the new country,  working with medium format camera and not having the digital one as a backup, but also making the book by myself (layout, print, binding) and printing the final photographs, mounting it and finally hanging it on the wall.

Final look at the exhibition:
At last, I would like to thank Zuzana and Krystof for joining me on my travels and Nick Long for showing us some breathtaking cliffs and places.
