Background

Deaf people are not able to hear the door chime and notice whether someone comes or not.
360 million people worldwide have disabling hearing loss. Individuals with hearing impairments rely on their sight for a variety of circumstances in which those who can hear simply use their ears.

Process

The ultimate goal of Light Bell is not to make a new device, but to make door bells naturally permeate into hearing-impaired people’s lives.
Focusing on hearing-impaired people’s way of communication, I’ve explored various concepts in order to establish the most reasonable mechanism with all potentials of their senses kept open. On basis of the communication method of the hearing-impaired, This light bell is the most convenient to use for the hearing-impaired.

Concept

The Light Bell was conceived to inform deaf users when there’s a visitor at the door.
'Light bell' repeats turning on and off the light five times when someone rings a doorbell. People can notice whether visitors came or not, by looking at the lights.

How to use

If you press the button of the light bulb and button of the chime bell simultaneously for a long time, a bluetooth is connected.
Since door bell is connected to light bulb via bluetooth , door bell can turn on the light without turning on the light.
With a button in the bulb, the light is on, and it is set up whether the bell would ring at the same time or not. You can recognize the state of set-up by watching the color change of LED at the right bottom of the chime bell and LED beside the button in the bulb.
