Being a young person growing up in today’s society can be very difficult. The expectations, pressures and confusion of life can cause a lot of mental strain on youth. My aim is to give these youth a place to escape their situations and focus on creating.
This non-for-profit organisation will be a studio space, located in the city of Melbourne that invites a young audience to focus on their own creativity and produce pieces of art, performance and design. The space will provide materials needed to ‘make’ and be a safe, friendly space for young people to escape.
The following collateral was all created for Youth Loop as forms of branding, advertisements and merchandise.
The intention of the posters was to advertise Youth Loop while also being an item that could be taken from the space. I wanted the posters to be something that the youth would want to pin up on their bedroom wall.
The aim of the animations were to be advertisements used on Social media and Youtube to encourage the audience to get involved. The first animation was inspired by the Triangles poster and by using simple shapes and movement and a ‘fun’ atmosphere it was aimed at the younger side of the audience
The second animation was then inspired by the ‘Loop’ poster. And by using an old computer graphic style and noises it created a sense of nostalgia, I aimed this at the older side of the audience.
The book of ideas focussed on the art therapy side of the project. The booklet was filled with simple creative tasks and ideas that make the reader reflect on themselves and their feelings while also being a source of enjoyment. It was inspired by the simplicity and handcraftedness of a zine and used different papers and textures to create a tangible feel.
The box of ideas then stemmed from the booklet. The box is intended to be sold at the space to raise money for the organisation. It contained simple art supplies that could be used to complete the activities or anything else creative. I designed the insert, outside slip and stationery branding for the packaging.
The website’s aim is to be a point where people who want to get involved would go to find out more about youth loop. I used graphics, type and colour from the other elements to bring the branding across and used a lot of imagery to ensure the website captured the audience’s attention.
