"Screaming Hand" Tribute
A tribute to the man himself- Jim Phillips. The original artist of the "Screaming Hand" designed in 1985 for Santa Cruz Skateboards. The logo has become a skateboarding icon and is recognized widely throughout the skateboarding community.
I thought it would be pretty cool to do a "hyper-real" (not photo-realistic) interpretation that still has that spiritual expression of the original "Screaming Hand". (above)
The mouth and hand were modeled separately, then stitched together into one uniform mesh. Once a uniform mesh was plotted, I sculpted in some details with Cinema 4D's sculpting tools.
