This poster was designed for New York, Theater Director, Jen Forcino. "I Am My Own Wife", is a one man play written by Doug Wright. The story is based on the true story of Charlotte von Mahlsdorf, an elegant and eccentric 65-year-old German transvestite who, against all odds, hid from the Nazis in plain sight as a woman.

 

     The beads featured on the poster are iconic to the story as the character begins/ends many monologues by holding on to them. The images inside the beads serve provide the viewer a quick snapshot of the elements to be featured in the performance. The poster and subsequent pieces of advertising I created, were a collaborated effort with the director Jen Forcino.
