My Timeline
Reflection
For this assignment we had to watch a silent video and make a cue list of what sounds we would hear and when it would occur, we also had to add in what we would use to recreate that sound but of course this being made before we had started we were surprised to find out that sounds are not what they seem to be when recorded. For example when you record water from a fountain pouring it doesn't really sound like waves or much like water at all in fact. Anyways once we get all the sounds we are then suppose to take this silent film and add in all the sounds we collected to make it seem like these are the original sounds. It was a lot harder than expected and kind of makes you appreciate how hard it is to do Foley art, It also makes you think of how you never even realized that all these movies you have watched over the course of your life were almost all made using Foley! This was a fun and a bit frustrating activity but a good experience none the less.
Screen Play Analysis

Question 1:  How does the action writing indicate Hanz Landa is playing mind games with LaPadite?

Answer: We can see that Hanz Landa is playing games with Lapadite by the way that he is asking LaPadite questions. For example Hanz is asking questions that are intentionally trying to make LaPadite slip up or give information that may be somewhat self incriminating. Hanz is also playing mind games with LaPadite by making him answer questions when Hanz already knows the answer for himself, such as when he ask Lapadite what people call him or what his moniker is. All these little things go to show that Hanz is just playing mind games. Even little things like asking for the milk over the alcohol put us of kilter a bit just because of the situation that Lapadite is in and what we know may be coming.

Question 2: How does the action writing in the screenplay indicate who has control (or a lack thereof)?

Answer: The writing would indicate that Hanz has the power, and LaPadite does not. The reason for this is that even though Hanz acts humble at first using phrases such as "May I" or "Your house" when in truth he could do whatever he wants. So it's sounds like Hanz is at the same level of power as LaPadite but we know just based on who each character is that LaPadite is the truly powerless in this whole situation and if Hanz wanted he could do whatever he wants.
Question 3: How does the dialogue communicate information about the character speaking?

Answer: The dialog communicates a lot about each character. For our character LaPadite it communicates to us that he isn't a bad person, just a scared one. He really wants to do the right thing but, at the same time he doesn't wanna lose his family either, and he knows that in the current situation that he is in, that those two things are not one and the same. As for our other character Hanz, the writing shows us just what type of twisted person he is. How he doesn't much see people as people and more like animals who either need to eradicated or controlled. He also shows us that all of this is just a game for him and everythin.g he does is out of pure enjoyment rather then because it's his  job, and that's whats truly scary about our character. Many people can be pushed into doing horrible things because of a multitude of reasons, but that's the difference with Hanz. No one pushed him to do anything, he does horrible things and takes pleasure in it. This is what the writing communicates to us about the characters and just how stark a contrast Hanz is to LaPadite

Reflection
For this activity we had to create first create storyboard, script and finally 30 second ad on a product that we created or were representing. The activity was very hard for me to even come up with an idea because I am the type of person to over talk or I guess over write things so trying to fit a product and explain or represent it in 30 seconds is a lot harder then it would seem. I think the hardest challenge for this activity was fitting all the talking into 30 seconds or when we had to cut down on words to make sure the video got to 30 seconds. if I was able to go back and fix something major, I would want to get more shots with the product and just more types of shots in general. Our group experienced a lot of difficulties in this activity but honestly even though some of these experiences could sometimes be quite frustrating it does help you grow by learning how to fix problems and what you should do next time. So even though everything didn't go smoothly it did turn out to be a good learning experience.
