This project required us to create posters to advertise events. The first one being Park Acoustics, I decided to try something new and do an isometric style illustration. I wanted to cap- ture some of the feelings and aesthetics one would experi- ence from the event. I filled the image with people and band members dancing along with a giant robot, illustrating the cool and relaxed atmosphere.
I created this poster to promote National Womens Day. I incor- porated our diverse culture and other African themes into this illustration and made the main focal point being the day advertised by placing, “National Womens Day” in the woman’s hair.
I used a combination of Photoshop and Illustrator to create this illustration.
The next poster I did was for Illustration Superstation. This is an Open Window event happening once every year where students gather to draw together, the creations from these nights are often random sparks of inspiration. I tried to capture the random and spontaneous nature of the night by creating this multi-couloured floating masked character who has an abstract and coat of worldly presence. Most of the people draw using traditional mediums on this night whereas I used a lot of traditional textures withing the illustration and designed it with a combination of Photoshop and illustrator.
This was an advertisement for Tic Tacs. I depicted the product big in the foreground to let the viewer know what the advertisement is about. The tag line was three pretty playful minutes. I created a scene with people on a train living their mundane lives and then placed the consumer, the character in the middle as flying and excited because of the Tic Tacs.
For this poster we had to create a poster to propagate tolerance. We had to change the word to our first language and depict how we related to it.
I used a vector style to depict multiple people of different ages, genders and races together in harmony. Tolerance to me is except- ing and respecting others even though they might be extremely different to you.
