Alice Bewildered was a project done in my design studio class. Every year the University of Connecticut does a special poster design for a poem that is selected by a board and there are 100 copies made and sold. We were given the task to create a poster design based on the poem selected. I began my thought process by thinking about what the poem meant and by researching the meaning behind the overall theme. It was Alice in Wonderland related so I felt it would be interesting to begin my process by looking at a crossword puzzle. I felt like a puzzle could relate to Alice because the story itself is a game with missing pieces that need to be found and put together. After multiple iterations the idea lead to other ideas and I ended up with a beautiful large poster that was very graphic and gave off an interesting take on an Alice in Wonderland vibe. My poster was selected and went through a few more iterations to get it to perfection. It eventually ended up winning a CADA silver award.
