Burger Fest '18 is a three-day food festival including music stage and takes part in Athens/ Greece and since this year, in Thessaloniki as well. We were commissioned to design the identity of the festival in both cities, including outdoor and indoor applications, also the material for the digital promotion. Some of the applications include bus stops, buses, posters, tickets, environmental graphics, screen graphics, merchandise and much more. Given the dynamics of the festival and the variety of applications, which differentiate in both cities, a flexible identity was designed, with colours as solid elements and a custom typographic system as the flexible, connecting, adaptable link.
Instead of repeating or adapting a static image to a variety of surfaces, a variable system was chosen, through the custom typeface that was designed, to give identity recognition, as well as the freedom to spread the image according to the size / medium given.
Apart from the need to balance the new custom typeface with the existing logo, it was considered necessary to link the visual image with the festive element, the various parallel actions and its massiveness, ie. the interest of attracting many different people. This type treatment has solved the adaptability of graphics on various and many different surfaces and their different sizes, creating a responsive technique that identifies this year's visual identity.
