    This piece is part of a series of artworks painted for the "TOward 2030. What are you doing?" Street Art project in Torino, whose main sponsor is Lavazza, the renowned locally-based coffee masters. This has been transforming our hometown into a mouthpiece for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the UN. We were asked to interpret Goal #2, "Zero Hunger", in one of the most beautiful corners of the city: Porta Palazzo, the largest open air market in Europe, home to a multitude of ethnicities and cultures from all throughout the Globe. Our brainstorm stems from the word Cùltus, which in Latin indicates both the act of cultivating as the concept of culture and education. Through our abstract geometric register we imagined a huge round field - fractioned according to the Golden Ratio - being fertilized by a volumetrically defined seed. Thanks to its unique setting, this piece also stands to signify the crossing of cultures leading to harmonic and sustainable cultivation and growth. Read Less
