In keeping with the idea of adaptive re use, the focus of the brief was to create a hostel within the existing space of the Old Town Hall in Pettah.The idea of the concept was carried out studying the demographic in Pettah thus catering for the budding business professionals.

Studying the hostel culture lead to ponder the young aura/vibrancy being recreated within hostels despite age barriers. Thus, the idea of catering to a modern nomad community was born.

The interior pods of the hostel are designed in a pre-assembled manner with movable partitioning as shown on the graphic panels. The idea is to create a flexible yet a temporary space to fit the needs of the demographic.The interior pods could be pre-assembled then and there, wherever within the dormitory space as the client wishes and the space in between the pods will be improvised into a lounge space.

The design consists of an open area for star gazing, co-work areas, cafe, dormitory and a gallery space
