Écrans-Mobile-Butor
Group project initiated during a workshop on augmented reality proposed by Dominique Cunin at the ÉSAD Valence.
Presented at the Lux, national stage in Valence within the festival Mobile Screens in November 2013 and
at the Gaîté Lyrique in Paris in April 2014.

We wanted to present a network of references around Michel Butor's book Mobile. To do this we designed
an active reading prototype using mobile screens and augmented reality.
It is an exhibition composed of 4 wooden frames that allow to consult texts and images in references
to the work, separated into 4 categories: Butor and his work, Butor and the others, others criticizing Butor
and Periphery . With a mobile screen, users approach the texts and images presented to make appear
on the screen references augmented to guide them in the exhibition. If they get closer, users can capture media (long texts, videos etc.) that require a longer consultation and they are then invited to enjoy the furniture designed for the exhibition to sit. We wanted to represent the rhizomatic form of the references we had collected after reading the book and exploiting the possibilities offered by the augmented reality
in the transmission of knowledge.
1. Structures and furnitures
Wood and pallet
Wood frames that comes to display the short contents (images, quotes, short text), part of it is reactive
on the Ipad.
Furnitures and a library were designed to allow visitors to view the longer contents and to find out
the reference books that have nourished our research.
2. Booklets
A research booklet and an exhibition booklet have been made available to the public.

3. Poster
Screen printed A2
For both presentations of the device, posters were produced and installed in the buildings.

4. Augmented Reality
Ipad application
After an introduction that allows users to understand the use of the Ipad, the visitor uses the photo lens to scan the interactive content on the structures and thus discover references in augmented reality or access long content to consult.
