Heritage is not only limited within the past or within a certain practice, heritage could be anything. In this project I focused on the old traditional games people used to play in Lebanon, especially the Bargees game. Although Bargees was famous across Lebanon it got real success particularly in the old Lebanese neighborhoods. Barjees is a 2 player or 2 groups game where each player has a set of 4 pawns and must move all their pieces across the cross board from start to nish. Rather than using dice to determine the moves, Barjees has shells too. Basically, this game has the shape of a grid crossroad and this is what made me want to apply it in an urban context, even it functions in a very similarly to a grid urban plan in a city. So my concept is to apply this game in an urban context “Tripoli”. Why Tripoli? Because Bargees is very well-know within the old Tripolitan neighborhoods also because it’s my hometown too. I selected the place in Tripoli that has nearly the similar grid as the Bargees.

The relation I created between this game and the future heritage is the ability to transform this game from one played indoors to an outdoors one played in an urban context linking buildings balconies and rooftops on different levels. So, it is the hybrid connection running in the city that makes a future heritage.
