I have been listening to @travisscott’s Astroworld quite a lot. I have never really been into new hip-hop; I was mostly listening to dark techno and old school hip-hop for many years. I really didn’t understand autotune and that’s interesting. One of the reasons I like techno so much, is the opportunity to customly craft sounds into perfection, no restrictions of a set of instruments, but every sound you can imagine is possible!
When filters and effects were applied to voices I didn’t like it at first, but listening to Astroworld I realised that I actually really enjoy the effects and filters that are used. It brings me back to what I like about electronic music; the ability to refine sounds too such a ridiculous detail that the combination of sounds is perfect. All perfectly crafted to set the right tone and atmosphere and to tell the artist’s story.
Enjoying this album so much, I decided it would be fun to make an alternate cover based on the theme and story of Astroworld.
This self-initiated project is also a good opportunity to let the world know I would love to do more stuff for the music industry. Preferably the kind of music that has a lot of money to spend off course, I need my champagne fountain and lambo’s too you know.
