This project was developed in 2009 as the final project for "Experimental Prototypes" for my college.
The main purpose of this project was to generate a set of effects over the sounds of the guitar that could be used in real-time and that were activated by previously defined movements done by the player.
In order to achieve this purpose I added a wiiMote to the guitar to sense the movements. Then, I programmed different types of effects – distortion, flanger, pitch shift, sampler recorder and drums loop. These functions were fully programmed using Pure Data and OSCulator to gather the data from the wiiMote.
I ended up with a functional prototype that allowed the player to use all the effects previously mentioned with a set of gestures specifically designed for this project.
This prototype won the price for the best installation of the ICESI university in 2009.
