My passion for watches stems from my adolescence when my Grandfather gave me my first watch for my fourteenth birthday. He himself owned this watch when he was very young and it accompanied him through most of the twentieth century before landing in my hands. This very watch started a hypnotic fascination within me and its story and perpetual vibration made it seem alive. My mystic, almost metaphysical connection to this object has created a dynamism and creativity within me which drive my ambition. The more I learnt about watchmaking, the more my thirst for discovery intensified and this lead me to study Design. Obviously Design covers many areas other than watches, but the attraction towards watches remained anchored in my heart and soul.

After five years of in-depth study in the world of Design, I decided to live in the world renowned country of watches, Switzerland. To begin my career, I worked in the two biggest watch design studios. My experiences enabled me to acquire not only fine skills but an irreproachable work ethic. Furthermore, these studios, who work with the greatest watch design companies in the world, trusted me to present my creations to their clients and customers. Thus was born in me the desire and ambition to begin my own personal project.
In Greek mythology Gaia is the mother of all living things; she is the creator goddess who enabled life to emerge from the chaotic origins of the universe. She is therefore, the symbol of creation and like every creator she searches for perfection as well as embodying traditional values and history.

Moreover, the mother goddess symbolises a certain completeness, an organised and coherent togetherness. This complex watch follows the traditional style of watch making, however, by its very nature, as well as it’s aim to be innovative and creative, it is, at the same time a project manager, an architect and a designer.

With this focus on creativity, the name Gaia has been chosen as evidence of its mythological qualities as well as relaying the values which are at the very heart of our ambition for this project.
The Primavera collection is a limited series and an exclusive product. We will only produce 900 pieces in three colours: Azzura, Bianca and Nero; with 300 copies in each color.

Your watch will bear an engraving from #001 to #300 on the back case, ensuring its uniqueness.

Each year a new collection, again in a limited series, will be created, bringing further prestige to the Gaïa & Co brand.
Inspired by old mechanical watches, Gaia & Co want to show-case French historical watches and their great history. Our neo-vintage approach demonstrates that Gaia & Co is the missing link between classic and modern watches.
To assemble our watches we have chosen French quality. Our preferred choice naturally went to Besancon, the cradle of the French watch making industry for nearly 3 centuries. Keeping to traditional craft, Gaia & Co watches are assembled by hand by watch makers with more than 70 Years experience.
This type of mechanism is now used by the biggest watch companies. Indeed their very conception proves their reliability, especially the Miyota Company which builds the most robust and precise automatic movement.
For our leather we chose to work with an French Family Company who hand make our straps using high quality leather. Our researcher chose a plant-based tanning process which offers high quality to Gaia & Co leather. The plant-based tanning process has the advantage of being anti-allergen and protects the leather more effectively.
The Primavera collection comes with a stainless steel back measuring 38 mm in diameter, which can be adapted for every wrist.

Two types of brushing have been applied - linear on the side and circular on the lugs.

The bezel is highly polished, thus creating a contrast and showing the face at its best.

Furthermore, it is made of ‘hesalite’ glass treated with anti-scratch sapphire.

Gaïa & Co watches have a Japanese Miyota 8215 movement, similar to ETA 2824 movement.

But they are more reliable and accurate, they have a ball-bearing rotor and a power reserve of 42 hours.
The Primavera collection is delivered in a case inspired by traditional watch cases but reworked in order to offer a modern touch. We have selected beige suede.

We have chosen to work with a French company which makes our cases in Besançon in order to promote French “savoir faire” as much as possible.

The case will house your Gaia & Co watch, together with a user guide, guarantee and a card displaying the number of your personal model.
