A set of recruitment brochures released by the School of Science and Engineering (SOSE), of the Ateneo de Manila University.
These brochures have been in use since AY 2018-2019.

Context & Problem
As the STEM college of the Ateneo de Manila University, one of the top university in the Philippines, SOSE regularly visits high schools and hosts recruitment seminars during college application time. The year 2018 marked the graduation of the first batch of K-12 high school students—an older, more experienced, more discerning set of students, who were expected to have a clearer vision of their choices for college.
At the same time, SOSE had just undergone a realignment, with new & updated programs, and a new vision for the future. Thus, the current SOSE recruitment brochures needed to be redesigned.

We held interviews and focus group discussions to find out what was important to high school students in choosing STEM programs for college. We also invited senior high school students to tell us what they liked and didn't like about the old brochure designs.
Results & Product
Two things stood out for us from our research:
1) Students spent time comparing similar programs between departments.
2) Students looked for categories that transcended departments—e.g. programs that fell under Engineering or Materials Science were found in different departments.
The resulting product is a set of cards and pockets. Each pocket is a department, containing a set of program cards. The design emphasizes modularity and comparability.
In the future, as the university moves towards interdisciplinarity, the designers hope that these program cards can be paired to create new, exciting degree program partnerships.

These brochures have been in use by the ADMU School of Science & Engineering since AY 2018-2019.
