When thinking of an idea to adopt for my magazine I was sitting in a coffee shop and wondered, ‘what is it with plants and coffee?’ And there my idea began to grow. For my magazine, I wanted to show how coffee can be made better simply by having a beautiful environment surrounding it.

I focused on three coffee shops that I believed reflected my idea the best. They all had a hipster vibe, lots of plants and lots of coffee. As I sat in these coffee shops I began to understand how an environment, especially one full of plants enhances the look of a space and also the natural freshness of a space.

Through my photography, I aimed to capture spaces with a vast amount of negative space and white spacing to allow for the green in the plants to stand out beyond everything else, this was then later enhanced through that of light room to allow for the greens to be a focal point.

The typeface used was simple and enhanced the simplicity within the negative spacing of the magazine due to the photographs. It allowed the more detailed photographs to take focus and create an interest in the viewer to read more.
