Lobby Display is an extreme, brutal, over the top, geometrical, low contrast, uppercase only typeface, not for the faint hearted.
Lobby Display is inspired, weirdly enough, by the writings of Jack Kerouac on jazz music and the power of it, and by the live version of the track Lobby by the Kilimanjaro Dark Jazz Ensemble, one of my favourite music pieces of all time.
It also stems - obviously - from brutalist architecture.

The characters have been designed within a strict grid in order to allow as little white space as possible while retaining bare minimum legibility - the text is decorative and guessed rather than read; it requires an effort from the reader.
The font is best used solid or stroked.
