This piece was an expanding square. It started as an 9x9 square, that was cut apart. Where ever it was cut, the pieces had to remain connected at one of the points, and could only be either rotated or mirrored. If the square ran off the edge of the work space, it would continue on the other side of the work space.
With this art piece, we had our choice of mediums to use, so I chose to use sharpie, gray marker and pencil. What was done was take 2 different paintings, find their art geometry in it and then create two more art geometries that transition between them.
With this piece, a choice of 4 out of 5 possible objects: a letter or number, something from the animal kingdom, something from the plant kingdom, a man-made object, or a geometric shape. Once the pieces were selected, they were combined together into a larger piece.
These are just a few rastor graphics. A raster graphics image, or bitmap, is a data structure representing a generally rectangular grid of pixels, or points of color, viewable via a monitor, paper, or other display medium. Raster images are stored in image files with varying formats.
