Valnontey
(Italy)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Valnontey is a secondary valley of the Val di Cogne, located south of the capital.
At its peak are the most important peaks of the Gran Paradiso massif and the Gran Crou glacier.
It is crossed by the homonymous torrent, a tributary of the Grand Eyvia. It is entirely part of the Gran Paradiso National Park.
In the middle of the valley, near the village of Valnontey (1,666 m above sea level), there is the Paradisia Alpine Garden, a botanical garden specialized in alpine essences.
Numerous chamois live in the valley.
