Task: to present authentically the mead label based on a traditional recipe.
"Honey" mead is the liquid gold of alcoholic beverages. After a long process of fermentation, the Czech honey mead inhales a distinctive flower flavor and a slightly bitter alcohol taste. The golden color of the beverage reminds us of fresh liquid honey right after harvesting.
This limited-edition mead was produced by LO'R Special Drinks alcohol beverage company. After more than 10 years of producing meads, it decided to create a special edition based on a Czech traditional recipe. Therefore, the necessity to develop a label design and a distinguished look of the new product arose.
Solution.
An authentic rustic design of honey jars became the main inspiration for this task. Typical handwritten etiquette around a jar with the name of the honey and year of production, and a piece of sackcloth on a lid, provide just a minimum of information and details required to achieve a home-made traditional look. We decided to reflect on this and use a piece of classic sackcloth with an original way of tying by an organic thread. The sackcloth is tied in such a way that it connects the top of a bottle with its label. Opening a bottle, you tear the label in a particular place. This action creates a sensation of opening something important and special. Something you can't bring back.
The label also speaks to the classic rustic etiquettes, honestly and proudly reflecting its contents. Engrave-style illustration of a bee and a flower enhances the feeling of a farm product. The label is looped on a bottle like a belt.
