This competition's goal was to develop temporary furniture that would be used as supporting elements for various festivals accross town, including events held in the new Quartier des spectacles; weights and ballasting systems, wayfinding and advertising supports, and crowd-control elements have been designed in a no-nonsensical unobstrusive way, around criterias such as durability, modularity, stackability and surface finish protection, along with ease of deployment on site either manually or with readily available machinery. Weights are stacked upon a rubberized protective shallow plate, which is then used for anchoring various communication supports, posts, light fences, and other festival elements such as tents, kiosks, light towers, etc.
