Me and my team won 2nd award at the IXDA design conference, Bangalore - 2010.
The task was to take inspiration from a traditional thing for creating interaction design. We chose puppets.

Puppets as inspiration for the Interaction Design:
Traditional Indian puppets provide wonderful concepts for interaction design like Engagement and Movement. The way puppet moves, grabs our attention and controls our eyeballs. This concept can be used in eye ball tracking in interaction systems. The colors and designs use for puppets making and puppet shows can be of great value in designing rich interface experience. The way puppeteer manages puppets technically at the back end and front end shows goes on with puppets, this is a powerful metaphor for the designer who designs at the back end with his skills and at the interface system shows is stolen by his creative interaction design. And two very powerful concepts delivered by puppets are Informative and Interactive. In a puppets show there is continuous flow of information which sticks audiences to chairs. And this makes puppet shows so interactive that they don’t bore.

So while creating an interface these points should be taken into consideration. This will make interaction system more interesting and involving.
