Joint Stock Company "Kazakh University of Technology and Business" was founded on June 12, 2003 on the basis of a branch of the Almaty University of Technology and Business in Astana. From 2003-2004 academic year, it acts as an independent university, referred to as Akmola University of Technology and Business.
March 26, 2008, was renamed the Kazakh University of Technology and Business (hereinafter referred to as KazUTB), which is the only specialized higher educational institution in Astana and the Akmola region to train competitive personnel for the food, light, petrochemical and hospitality industries.
