Azania font family
Azania is a New humanist slab-serif text typeface family of 12 fonts designed by Jan Erasmus and released by CyberGraphics cc and distributed by www.fonts.com, www.itc.com and www.linotype.com
Azania was started over two years ago and developed at CyberGraphics. I decided to work on a humanist slab-serif typeface model with a medium contrast specifically designed to work in small sizes. Geometric slab-serif which there are100s of, are mostly geometric and without any modulation, which I find boring. There are exceptions like Archer from H&FJ. Azania is available in 4 weights: the ‘Book/Medium’ for main text demands and two styles (Small Caps and Italic) to created different kind of emphasis. A strong x-height and shorter ascender/descender make this very legible and elegant typeface very suitable for use in books, magazines, newspapers and advertising display work.
