Stone Soup, the literary magazine by writers and artists under the age of 14, has been in print since 1973. We wanted a new design that reflected the extraordinary quality of the children’s work that we publish, and that lived up to our ethos of respecting their output as much as that of any adult artist. Joe's design, with its gorgeous color palettes, clean layout and carefully chosen font have given us more than we could possibly have imagined. Thanks to him, we now have a Stone Soup that is unquestionably made for the children of the twenty-first century.

When Stone Soup needed new and transformative designs for its magazine and book series, I knew Joe was the only man for the job. Not only is every aspect of his design brilliantly conceived and thought through, he has a genuine interest in the underlying ethos of the Stone Soup project – to promote, celebrate and encourage children’s creativity. That care and respect for these young people’s work shines through in the design, and in his exemplary approach to delivering the work. Thank you, Joe, it’s always a pleasure to work with you!
