EASTERN POISON
ART DIRECTION, BRANDING, PACKAGING, ILLUSTRATION

Craft spirits have been on the rise round the globe however its growth in the east has been slow. With more people desiring new and interesting taste, the world has turned to the exoticism of the east. The east has always been an alternate parallel to the west. With consumers with adventurous palettes and a desire for more distinct and exotic goods, the demand for goods in the east has skyrocketed.

Eastern Poison hails as a venture into locally sourced and brewed gin that draws provenance from the historical heritage of gin and cultural story of the region. The design inspiration combines traditional eastern medicine with the apothecary and herbology based heritage of gin. Each brew of gin is based on traditional eastern medicine and its theory of the four natures, hot, warm, cool and cold with corresponding herbal blends based around a key center ingredient said to have healing benefits.

In mythology, four mythical animals embody each of the natures and thus form the illustration on the labels of the gin. The campaign and collaterals are made for the theoretical launch event of the gin and consist of the gin packaging as well as a publication with a zine that educates of the brand story, a mini ingredients book with all the traditional healing benefits in the blend of each gin and a curated poison book that teaches consumers how to enjoy the different mixes and cocktails that compliment their bottle of eastern poison gin.
