SISONKE - ASSEMBLE AFRICA

The concept for this project is to cater to Africa as a whole, with the means of aesthetics which relate to Africa and its people. The Corporate Identity should reflect that of a clear link to Africa, and communicate a strong message that says, this is African. The logo for Sisonke consists of two parts, that of typography as well as an icon. The icon in the logo represents a symbol which has been modified and changed several times but can still be associated with the story of the two crocodiles. Literally translated FUNTUNFUNEFU-DENKYEMFUNEFU means “a two-headed crocodile with a common stomach.” It is a symbol for unity among humanity despite cultural differences. It symbolizes working together in a democratic society to reach our destiny as humanity. There are two main color used in this Corporate Identity, orange and blue. The reason for using orange is because it means instinct, warmth, royalty, wealth, spirituality, purity, hospitality and represents the color of animal skins. The reason for using blue is because it means spirit, control, open, peace, harmony, love, energy and represents the sky.
