I redesigned the standard shapes used in a tangram and created new shapes that could be used to form the numbers 0-9. The whole series of numbers were presented in a book fastened in the corner with a bookscrew so that the individual pages could be swiveled out and held against the light. Each page can be layered against each other and held up against the light, gradually producing a blurred image of numbers. This being a visual translation of the eye disease, 'cataract'. Felt was chosen as it had the same wooly quality as a cataract.
