an invitation card designed for a thread ceremony or upanayana - a sacred rite of passage ritual for all hindus. The sacred thread or 'janeu' is worn by hindu boys following a series of rituals and steps.
the who -
the invitation was designed as an e-vite for a family member - which meant a little more freedom from the clients side in terms of decision-making. based out of chennai, india, the family wanted to keep the invite simple and clear, communicating only that which was absolutely necessary - the venue, date and time, and details for an RSVP
highlighting the sacred thread or the 'janeu' in orange (a colour that is often used to represent the hindu community)
choosing a colour to contrast the orange while maintaining the vibrancy an invitation needs to have (especially in India), this deep blue accomplished that characteristic - making it attractive and slightly royal.
