Camberwell Sunday Market Poster
Final Poster Design
Description
These posters were designed as a personal project. I was going to the well-known Camberwell Sunday Market in Melbourne and decided to design a few posters to post on social media encouraging friends and family to attend the flea market.

Layout
I wanted the posters to be minimal and simply provide the date and venue of the market. I had a few sketches of the poster design/layout and settled on the above poster. The header and dates were in bold in order to attract the attention of the readers and were aligned on either side of the poster providing a form of symmetry, along with, the placement of the vector illustrations at the bottom of the poster.

As seen from the draft sketches, the second poster draft was selected. However, a few changes were made during editing in Photoshop in terms of the alignment of the header and time/venue information to the right.

Colours & Typefaces
The colours chosen for the poster are derived from the Rotary Club's logo. The typeface used for the date was Intro Inline and Arial for the header, time and venue. This was differentiated by white spacing and different font colour.

The vectors were drawn in Adobe Illustrator and imported into Adobe Photoshop for the final layout and design. These included vectors of items that are commonly seen in flea markets which gives the audience an idea of what the poster depicts.

Other Poster Variations
The below include a number of posters designed for the same purpose but used for a stall that would be selling succulent plants. These posters are experimenting with fonts and typefaces. The succulent vectors were sketched in Adobe Illustrator and imported into Adobe Photoshop to be used as the poster background. This is a minimal approach and could be used in leading up to an event, giving a peak at the date and venue to keep an eye on.

The text in the middle poster below is created using text clipping mask to have an image as the background of the text, providing an interesting contrast. The one on the right has a play on the Stencil typeface as in most flea markets, items are "DIY" so it is a suitable font for this type of poster.
