How to renovate your flat?

It you want the job to be done properly and fast, you would probably resist the temptation to implement your sense of beauty with some scrap materials and just your own pair of hands.

And how do you make parks in the cities?

The first step is to get the permission from the officials! Recently we received a feedback from one of our customers that it is impossible to deal with officials in Russia, because there are endless deadlines and approvals – no, it is just impossible!

The second step: the planners often just take a lot of nice-looking plastic bushes, ferris wheels, kiosks, benches, pavilions and stick them in any free space, sometimes laying pathways made of differently shaped tiles and of various asphalt types.

Probably because of that kind of approach the embankment of Khabarovsk hasn't got even one proper name, being called at the same time the Nevelsky Embankment, the Muravyov-Amursky Park and “a plot of land near the Lenin Stadium”.
Sometimes, though, things are not so bad in Russia. In a remote town of  Shakhtersk, on Sakhalin Island, people know how to do the right thing. They go to professionals. This time they went to us. Accidentally, our architect has always dreamed of making a park. He was drawing parks at night. Spending days wandering around what is called “parks” in Khabarovsk.

The task was to create a design project of the Miner's Glory Park on the site of the existing public garden, while maintaining the greenery and the usual pathways of citizens.

A park is made for people. And if we don't want to put fences everywhere, to install surveillance cameras and have some sort of  patrols, it is necessary to conduct zoning in such a way that each of the visitors can find his or her ideal spot. The one who came to see the memorial should not stumble over the athletes, and they in turn should not have to chase the kids off their inventory. That's why we created a separate children's playground and a sports ground the park apart for the memorial.

Are you keeping in mind that it's not just a park, but it's the Miner's Glory Park? So, in our city the embankment can do without the admiral after whom it is called. But the miners understand that, yes, we need a sculptural composition. Since such is their wish, we suggested to immortalise their courage. Our vision of the monument can be seen above. The forces of nature and the man's eternal struggle with them  - because this is a monument to the heroes, and not to jackhammers or other tools.
Thank you.
