Micro-Interactions

Micro-interactions are those details in the 'activity' that make us like the activity or dislike it. In terms of Interaction design, it can be termed as the finer details in a website or application that make the experience more engaging and memorable or it could be the reason behind why one tends to hate using some web application even if it functions properly. We studied several types of these Micro-interactions and learnt to group them into categories. As a part of the course, we had to design 3 micro-interactions- either new or redesign an existing one.

Alarm Clock: Waking up interface
While waking up because of the alarm clock, it is difficult to comprehend what the words- snooze or dismiss mean as we are still half asleep. In that scenario, it is easier if we see visuals that can be related to one's experience (a sleeping person/ jumping person) and decide what to pick. Using words which one normally uses (5 more minutes please...) also makes it more contextual.

Compare Images from Gallery
With multiple similar images (group photos shared by many people which are dispersed all over your gallery) it is a difficult task to decide which images to keep and which ones to discard. A micro-interaction of comparing that does the job.

No Internet Connection?

We all love to play the dinosaur game when internet is not working.
I thought of making the game more contextual in our Indian space.

Become Govinda and break some pots ~ especially around the Janmaashtami days!
Jai Hanuman... A similar game with different perspective in which Hanuman needs to dive down to burn the buildings with his tail.
