In its first two years of operation, This Land Press' websites have experienced phenomenal growth reaching over 1.5 million pageviews from over a million unique visitors. I wasn't able to touch the design of the website until the 2013 redesign, in which another designer, Carlos Knight, and I revamped the entire site, updating every aspect and giving the brand new life with extra functionality, new features, and an efficient design.
With this redesign, I felt it was important to help the user navigate through the many different branches of This Land Press with efficient graphics, colors, and cues as to lead the viewer's eyes around the webpage. There is quick access to all of the different main pages, the headline stories are found in the large main-content-rotator box, and the stories are viewable as soon as you hit the website, without even needing to scroll down (even on small laptop screens). Accessibility was a key point of focus, as we generated over 950,000 pageviews in 2012. The site is live now, and you can access it by clicking here.
