Pondwick Close is a family house which had been altered and extended in the past in an unsympathetic manner. The site is in the St Albans conservation area and is surrounded by historic park land. The project involved extending the house to achieve 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, extending the kitchen and providing a new garden room. The brief also includes improving the relationship with the garden with substantial new hard landscaping and improving the appearance of the house particularly at the rear. We obtained Planning Permission and Full Plans Building Regulations Approval. We produced Tender documentation and put the project out to Competitive Tender. Having analysed the tenders and advised our clients they appointed a Main Contractor. Elbourn Architects then acted as Contract Administrators throughout the build to a very satisfactory completion
