PodStation

UI/UX

PodStation — is the online-radio and podcast aggregator for underground electronic music lovers, in such genres like deep, tech house, techno, IDM and so on. Sometimes organizes or supporting relevant events. The name is toying with words: podcast, dock-station, radio-station.

In Russian “pod” means “under”, so that’s why “station” in the logo is under “under”. Pun. Also, there is a glyph of a vinyl record in the logo. Because vinyl — is true. It matters for people on both sides of this app.

App can be used in the background and fullscreen modes. Just tap play, lock your device and hide it in your pocket or set on dock station and enjoy hypnotic loops of the vinyl record (or oscillogram). You can use the vinyl as an interface. Tap on tonearm: pause/mute, swiping on the bottom side of the record: forwarding/rewinding, and of course, you can see the timecode of the current track or stream.

THAT'S IT.

This is enough for 90% of the time the application is used.
But if you want to go deeper...

The aggregator has a big number of relevant artist and large base of podcasts. One artist can release several podcasts. One podcast can be released by several artists. Some podcasts don't have episodes titles or something, just kind of an index or a serial numbers. And other mad skills with naming. I had to take that into mind. Now you can find what you want very simply. No matter where and how you started your search. Or just tap on a random podcast. Sometimes it's fun.

Menu, Blog, Events and Contacts

Tap on the logo on the main screen for a few seconds and the customization menu will be opened. The interface of the app has no halftones, so any color pick would be great. Also, you can input HEX or RGB data. You don’t have to save your pick, just tap the logo again and you’ll return to the main screen.

Thanks!
