In the following brief the task was to create a social awareness campaign that creates more awareness of a social issue that we are facing in South Africa today. We were inform to choose something that we could relate to or have some passion for. I hope that through this social awareness campaign that have chosen to do on Zebra Crossing is impactful.

The brand I have chosen is LeadSA because it is a platform that I feel could boost my campaign to bring social awareness to my social issue of deaths of pedestrians via a zebra crossing.

The reason why a chose this social issue is because every day I walk into Vega School I have to cross a Zebra Crossing, I consistently feel like I am going to get hit and killed by all the drivers who don’t stop or see and see a person on it but still keep on driving.
The concept for this social awareness campaign about Zebra Crossing is that the pedestrians seem to be invisible to the drivers, regardless of her race or age they will still drive and almost run you over. I wanted to portray the message via a pedestrian, (person) being portrayed as a zebra, to show that they are not invisible.

I decided to create three social media posts with the slogan, “Save a Pedestrian, STOP at a Zebra Crossing!”, depending on which social media platform used each layout is different but all the information is the same. I wanted to be bold and daring and on each post in put a photograph of a young man painted as a Zebra with only his face showing and a pitch-black background. There are two faced used one with his eyes closed and won with his eyes opened widely.

I hope that get drivers to stop at pedestrian crossing and take responsibly for their actions with great power comes great power comes great responsibility.
