MAC Cosmetics Packaging: Mechanical Print Production
Steve J & Yoni x MAC Cosmetics. Worked with provided art from Steve J & Yoni; made sure design was consistent throughout the packaging while keeping each individual product package looking original and playful. Eye palettes had more of the eye art shown, lipsticks had more of the lip art, lip and cheek palettes showed most of the art while keeping the fun playful look of interesting crops to stay true to the Steve J & Yoni art style. Playing around with the crops and abstract aspect of the provided art was challenging and fun at the same time. I mainly worked with the type of the packaging and mechanical files as part of my work while freelancing with MAC Cosmetics as a Mechanical Artist. See below.

Colorful and playful art provided by Steve J & Yoni had to be strategically applied to each products packaging. Featured in these photo are the Candy Yum Yum Lipstick and the Yoni Crush Lipstick; because it is a lipstick product,I made the lip portion of the art more prominent but included the eyes cropped on the sides to stay true to the abstract playful crops of the Steve J & Yoni art style.

Also responsible for all the type on the packaging. If you look closely at the type you'll notice the text flows naturally yet it adheres to MAC Cosmetics very strict type standards which include specific type points, leading, tracking, kerning, and other strict rules such as no widows or orphans allowed. I mainly worked with the type of the packaging and mechanical files as part of my work while freelancing with MAC Cosmetics as a Mechanical Artist.

Yoni Attraction Casual Colour Lip & Cheek Colour. Responsible for strategically placing the provided art on this package and making sure the long text provided fit properly on the back of the packaging while following MAC Cosmetics strict type standards. For the art, I enjoyed this crop the most; because this is the lip & cheek palette the crop included the lips and only one of the eyes for a playful look. In terms of the type, this was one of the more challenging type assignments because there was a lot of text. I managed to fit everything in without violating any of the type standards which include specific type points, leading, tracking, kerning, type styles, and more. The goal was to make sure the type flowed naturally without looking justified. I mainly worked with the type of the packaging and mechanical files as part of my work while freelancing with MAC Cosmetics as a Mechanical Artist.
