조형적인 요소들과 기능성이 조화롭게 이루어지도록 디자인한 사이드 테이블입니다.

전체적인 형태는 수영장의 사다리에서 영감을 받았으며 상단의 원판은 사용자가 자유롭게 사용할 수 있도록 넉넉한 넓이를 제공합니다. 파이프들 사이의 두개의 받침으로 인해 책이나 화분,디퓨저와 같은 리빙소품들을 사용자의 취향에 맞게 올려놓을 수 있도록 고려하였습니다.

메탈재질을 사용하여 안정감 있게 사용할 수 있고 파이프구조를 사용하여 전체적인 크기에 비해 적당한 무게감으로 쉽게 들고 위치를 옮길 수 있습니다. 파이프가 상단에서 휘어지는 요소를 통해 제품을 좀 더 편리하게 이동시킬 수 있으며 다양한 색상을 통해 사용자의 취향뿐만 아니라 공간에 어울리게끔 구성할 수 있습니다.

디자인프로세스에 집중하여 기획,스케치,소프트목업,모델링,렌더링 등 시각화과정과 함께 레이저컷팅,파이프밴딩,용접과 분체도장을 포함한 전 제작과정을 진행하였습니다.

It is a side table designed to harmonize the formative elements and functionality.

The overall shape is inspired by the ladder of the pool, and the upper disc provides ample space for the user to use freely. The two pedestals between the pipes make it possible to put the furniture, such as books, pots, and diffusers, to your liking. It can be used in a stable manner by using metal material, and it can be moved easily with a reasonable weight compared with the whole size by using a pipe structure. The pipe can move the product more easily through the bending element at the top, and it can be configured to fit not only the user's taste but also the space through various colors. Focusing on the design process, I carried out the entire production process including laser cutting, pipe bending, welding and powder painting along with visualization process such as planning, sketching, soft mockup, modeling and rendering.

Design Inspiration

사람들은 더운 여름, 수영장에서 햇빛을 즐기며 여유를 만끽합니다. 지상에서 사다리를 통해 물속으로 들어가는 행위는 곧 물과 함께 여유와 즐거움을 느끼는 상황 속으로 들어가는 것과 유사한 것과 같이 사람들이 Piscina와 함께 하는 공간은 ‘쉼’을 즐길 수 있는 매개체로서의 역할을 하도록 고려하였습니다. 이러한 수영장의 공간에 항상 존재하는 사다리의 곡선과 구조에서 영감을 받아 디자인 하였으며 Piscina 라는 단어는 스페인어로 ‘수영장’,’풀장’을 의미합니다.

People enjoy the sunshine in the hot summer, swimming pool. The action of entering the water through the ladder on the ground was similar to going into a situation where you feel relaxed and joyful with the water, so that the space people have with Piscina considered to act as a medium to enjoy the 'rest.' The design of the pool is inspired by the curves and structures of the ladder that is always present in the space, and the word Piscina means "pool" in Spanish.

Form Sketches & Sketch Modeling

주 요소인 면과 선이 조화로운 최적의 비율을 찾기 위해 다양한 스케치를 통해 형태를 지속적으로 수정, 보완 하였습니다.

가장 큰 역할을 하는 부분인 테이블의 기능과 선반의 기능이 적절하게 어울리도록 고민하였고 덩어리감을 가늠하기 위해 모델링을 통해 전체적인 비례과 구조를 알아보며 피드백과정을 거쳤습니다.

In order to find the optimal ratio of the main element, the surface and the line, I continuously modified and supplemented the shape through various sketches. I was thinking that the functions of the table, which is the biggest part, and the functions of the shelves fit properly, and through the modeling, the whole proportional structure was examined and feedback process was performed to measure the lumpiness.

Sketch Mockup Process

작업물이 실제로 만들어 졌을때의 느낌이 어떤지, 제작과정에서 어떤 문제점이 있고 어떻게 구조가 이루어 지는지 알아보기 위해 스케치 목업을 진행하였습니다. 두 메인 파이프의 간격과 선반, 부수적인 파이프와의 연결이 까다로웠고 선반과 파이프가 맞닿는 주고에 대한 고려사항을 알 수 있었습니다.

I conducted a sketch mockup to see how it felt when the work was actually created, what problems were encountered in the production process, and how it was structured. The spacing of the two main pipes, the connection to the shelves, and the ancillary pipes, was difficult, and I was able to see considerations for the delivery of the shelves to the pipes.

정확한 치수와 비율을 도면화함과 동시에 제작공정에 대한 고려도 함께 진행되었습니다.

As well as drawing accurate dimensions and proportions, consideration was also given to the manufacturing process.

Making Process -1. Laser cutting

테이블과 선반의 역할을 하는 금속판을 레이저컷팅을 진행하였습니다.

Laser cutting was carried out on the metal plate which acts as a table and a shelf.

Making Process -2. Pipe bending

제품의 큰 축이 되는 파이프를 두개의 파트로 나누어 하단의 R값과 상단의 R값이 다른 점을 고려해 파이프밴딩을 진행하였습니다.

Pipe bending was carried out considering the difference between the Round value at the bottom and the Round value at the top.

Making Process -3. Welding Process

원형금속판,선반과 파이프를 최대한 깔끔하게 용접하는 과정을 거쳤습니다. 원형금속판에 파이프의 외경에 맞게 타공을 하여 용접을 하였으며 선반의 역할을 하는 금속판과 파이프가 자연스럽게 맞닿을 수 있도록 진행하였습니다.

Circular metal plates, shelves and pipes have been welded as cleanly as possible. The circular metal plate was welded by punching according to the outer diameter of the pipe, and the metal plate serving as the shelf was naturally brought into contact with the pipe.
