This poster design has been created for a school project in the fall of 2018. The assignment was to imagine a poster for an actual exhibit – which was held in St-Gallen the previous year – and to adapt it for several format and mediums. The main challenge (apart from finding the visual language) was to fit the given text in three languages (almost mandatory for any public-funded event in Switzerland) and to adapt/cut it properly for the smaller formats.

The exhibit was about creating and designing with hight tech textiles. The juxtaposition of a technological and cutting-edge topic with a classic and old matter such as knitting made me want to play with some contrasting imagery.
What if high tech textiles existed already in the middle ages, for example?
I took a famous painting from Leonardo da Vinci and made the Lady with an Ermine wear a down jacket. Adding a duotone treatment and a halftone pattern tied everything together.
