Through the creation of these Delightful Doughnut Icons, I wanted to emulate bright colors and a thoroughly cohesive design. My objectives were to create something that could be useful for any bakery that follows of theme of bright and beautiful doughnuts. I also desired my icons to be unified and follow a specific visual theme. I feel I was able to accomplish this through various rules of repetition seen in each of the twelve icons. 

Sketching is a crucial process in which small ideas are able to take life and become real. Through my sketching, I was able to decipher which direction I wanted to go by using different perspective points and small details in my sketches. I knew what would be trickier to accomplish in a digital setting rather then with pen and paper. Sketching helped me figure out more of a theme as well. 

After this first draft, I knew things needed some major refinement. The doughnuts themselves seemed very dull and were not very unified. For example, there was no obvious light source and some doughnuts were flat, rather then displaying accurate depth. Through critiques and the assistance of my peers, I was able to address the issues and add details that would prove to change the entirety of the design.

Through many hours of hard work and persistence, I was able to create twelve Delightful Doughnut icons that I am proud of! They are bright, happy, and make me think of fun Saturday mornings. Now that I am finished, it's finally time to go myself a dozen doughnuts.
