The 'Bulldog' cement mixer is the first collapsible, kinetic-powered, D.I.Y. cement mixer which also provides the user with a built in guide for creating concrete of perfect consistency.

The starting point for this project was to aid D.I.Y users when mixing concrete at their home. However, as the project progressed, a number of other opportunities arose. Designing a mixer that was collapsible, inexpensive, and easy to clean offered the consumer many advantages over all of it's competitors.
The images below illustrate the unique features of the 'Bulldog'.
As the user pushes/pulls the 'Bulldog' to it's destination, the wheels rotate the drum (ration 1:3)
How it works
This simple geared mechanism allows the user to mix the concrete by pushing or pulling it around the yard. The 'Bulldog' would cost significantly less than it's competitors because of the exclusion of a motor.
collapsibility
The three struts (which also provide structure for the inner paddles) are removed and the user can then push the silicone drum downwards. The layered structure means the 'Bulldog' collapses in to itself, similar to the 'Normann Copenhagen' strainer. The handles can also be slotted into a collapsed position, leaving the 'Bulldog' at a fraction of it's working size.
The silicone drum also allows the user to crack off any dried on cement. This means a cleaner mixer in storage, instead of the usual dirty eyesore with current solutions.
Perfect ratio
The reccomended ratio for mixing concrete is 1:2:3 (one part cement, two parts sand, three parts stone). This simple ratio is sometimes hard to judge simply by eye. The drum of the 'Bulldog' is visually split in to layers. The user fills the first level with cement, the next two levels with sand, and the next three with stone. They then add water depending on the workability they want with the concrete. Finally they mix the concrete by transporting it to it's destination.
