EAST is a publication and personal project, exploring the forgotten Communist buildings of former eastern block countries. Buildings that have played significant roles in shaping the the society around them and often times have complicated histories. Many of these buildings to day remain a dilemma to the cities that they are in, and are often times left to fall apart, as they were not able to adapt with modern society. This issue of EAST features the DDR buildings of former East Berlin.
