LINK - Urban art festival

LINK is the Urban Art Festival which involved 21 internationally renowned artists working on the decoration of 18 structural pillars of the metro of Brescia, during the three editions from 2016 to 2018, and it was located at Sanpolino station, so as to introduce several paintings with a high artistic value in the urban fabric. The event was the culmination of a project that involved numerous entities of this neighborhood, aimed at revitalizing this peripheral area of the city. Feedbacks were excellent, both from those who lives daily in the neighborhood as well as from the rest of the citizens.

This operation brought along several benefits, first of all:

- enhancement of the areas where the paintings are located, redefining the urban pattern

betterment of the surfaces

- enrichment of the cultural heritage of our city and of the neighborhood targeted by the operation

- increase in the safety level of the area perceived by the citizens

All the editions were preceded by:

- informative and ideas-sharing events with the citizens of the neighborhood and the residents of the surrounding buildings, aimed at attracting their interest and explaining the project

- activities with the young people of the neighborhood, inside the recreational areas, such as workshops and laboratories

- exhibitions and conferences with the artists involved, before the beginning of the painting operations on walls
