Unlike other caddies on the market, SLING Sink Caddy is a TPR coated wire that forms to the shape of your sink. This material was specifically chosen for its elastic properties. It allows the caddy to hang around the faucet neck or sink wall. The openness of the cutouts and perforated base promote drainage, preventing moisture buildup and growth of mold. Easy to clean, simply rinse with warm soapy water
The first inspiration came from this Friendly face and its ''Gumby'' material.
The material is TPR or silicone coated wire, it is bendable and keep its position.
First concept was more a basket + Gear tie
First prototype (FDM print + Gear tie)
Second prototype (trying to reduce material in order to save cost)
Third prototype (keeping the idea of a basket but at its essentiel, FDM print + Gear tie)
Fourth prototype (Third prototype printed in soft POLYJET material with metal cable inside)
The shape of the product evolved quiet a lot in order to make it the most affordable possible for the market
