THE SOUND FLOWER

THE SOUND FLOWER

Shout into the Microphone and observe the eruption of flowers bloom. Depending on how loud you can be, the volume of flowers will increase and the RGB LED will change colors.

How It Works/Data flow:

Huzzah Feather receives the information from the Microphone Amp breakout board
The information is converted into simpler numbers(states) and pushed to Adafruit IO feed
Processing is listening for data subscribed from Adafruit IO
Processing takes the Adafruit IO data and produces the necessary outcome (i.e. sound level converted into varying levels of flower bloom)
LED lights in mic reflect the level the user is in. When highest note is recorded for more than 10 seconds, a "finisher" rainbow wheel turns as the flowers continuously bloom.

Tools:
Adafruit Feather HUZZAH ESP8266
Adafruit Microphone Amplifier Breakout board
Adafruit NeoPixel RGB LED
Processing P3
ArduinoIDE
Adafruit IO
3D Printed Microphone Casing
Prusa 3D Printer
Mic Stand
Stumbling Blocks:
Issues with Arduino IO throttling from too much information sent in too short a time span
Issues with HUZZAH not connecting to the internet for unknown reasons
