Task lighting requires direct, hard light with focus on work area. Light source may be directly visible. Ambient lighting creates an experience in the environment, with indirect light with the light source invisible. It usually enhances a space or an area in the room and gives a volumetric feel.
Fluo is a minimalist attempt to create a luminaire providing both task and ambient lighting.
Concept Sketch
Fluo is meant for informal workstations - study tables, home offices, bedroom desks, etc.
Fluo latches onto screws on any flat surfaces, and is easy to mount.
Fluo has an intensity controller, for switching between strong task lighting to soft ambient lighting. The ambience is further enhanced by rotating fluo for indirect light.
Task Light
Strong, direct light is projected on the work area. The intensity is maximum.
Ambient Light
The light is turned away, to wash the wall. The intensity is reduced to create a nice, warm ambience.
